March 2nd is Dr Seuss’ birthday and to celebrate we’re sharing a fun Cat in the Hat dessert idea with you today! We loved Dr Seuss’ books growing up and we enjoy reading them to our children today.

One of our favorite books is the Cat in the Hat. Some of our other favorite Dr Seuss Books are Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish, Two Fish and Hop on Pop.

This Cat in the Hat Dessert Idea is just too cute. Your kids will not only love making this dessert but they’ll also enjoy eating them too! This is such a fun activity to do after or before you read the book. You can even sing some of the book’s famous lines as you make this fun little treat!

Cat in the Hat Dessert Idea

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Vanilla Wafer Cookies
  • White Chocolate Candy Melts
  • Red Gummy Lifesavers

Directions

1. Melt your candy melts. Follow package instructions. Microwave 30 seconds at a time and stir allowing the heat to melt so you don’t overcook the candy melts.

2. Dip each cookie into the candy melt mixture. Place on parchment paper.

3. Place a red lifesaver on top of each cookie. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.

4. Using the extra melted chocolate, put some melted chocolate on the lifesaver and place a candy melt on top. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.

5. Repeat until you have 2 candy melts and 3 lifesavers on top of the cookie.
